Finnish online gaming operator, Alands Penningautomatforening (PAF), has announced the signing of a deal that has seen its domain at PAF.com integrate the Swish mobile payments service for players in the newly-regulated Swedish iGaming market.

Existing popularity:

The Mariehamn-headquartered firm used an official Thursday press release published by European Gaming Media and Events to detail that Swish already boasts some 6.7 million users in Sweden and gives account holders the ability to quickly and easily transfer funds to and from their domestic bank accounts.

PAF explained that the smartphone-based Swish application was launched in 2012 via a partnership that involved Sweden’s six largest banks and is additionally utilized by some 180,000 businesses across Scandinavia’s most populous nation.

Five-year license:

Christer Fahlstedt, Chief Executive Officer for PAF, stated that his firm has been offering online gaming services to players in Sweden for some 18 years and was last month granted an official license that gives it the right to continue this provision until at least the end of 2023.

Fahlstedt’s statement read…

“Swish is without doubt the favorite way for Swedes to transfer money. Our site already offers Swedish players games they can’t get anywhere else and now our PAF.com gaming account also offers the speediest payments available. We fully expect the strong growth we experienced in Sweden in 2018 to continue.”

Benefitting society:

Owned by the government of Finland’s autonomous Aland Islands region, PAF proclaimed that it recorded revenues of almost $132.9 million in 2017 while its profit for that year exceeded $33.5 million and had been earmarked ‘for the benefit of society.’
